Dave Coulton won the Best B Grade Team at Goondiwindi on the weekend which included Haydon Luna, above.
Dave & Kim purchased Haydon Luna (SC Billa-Murrabong Victory) last season after she had won a BPP at the Quirindi Carnival. She has slotted well into Dave’s string and he enjoys playing her.
Recently they purchased Haydon Night Breeze (Isis Purdette-Haydon Nightwatch) an easy going young mare the rest of the family can play.
The Coulton’s original purchase from the Stud was 26 years ago when they bought Haydon Star Night. She had won the 1987 Sledmere Cup for the best first season horse at the Scone Polo Club and they enjoyed great success with her.
They have re-commenced playing again this time as a full family affair with Dave and his three sons Andrew, Tom & Sam all playing.
Haydon Luna had played right through to Ellerston level being a fully set mare when purchased by the Coultons. She had been runner-up in the Sledmere Cup and at the Scone League to Haydon Madonna and won a BPP at Quirindi. Her grandmother Haydon Dark Night was a full sister to the original mare purchased by the Coulton’s Haydon Star Night.
Haydon Night Breeze was purchased as a four year old and is an easy going mare by Haydon Nightwatch and stands out on the field as a type being black with a big star. She was played on the weekend by Sam Coulton is his first ever carnival.
